Aimee Kim

College Counselor SAT Instructor Academic Advisor

Aimee brings over 15 years of experience teaching and advising students, from middle school through post-college. She is a passionate advocate for expanding access to higher education and is deeply committed to helping all students navigate the path to college.

Before founding Kai Prep, Aimee taught math in Baltimore City Public Schools and gained extensive experience teaching English across a variety of contexts—including SAT and TOEFL prep, high school and college-level reading and writing, and business English for adult learners.

Currently, Aimee serves as an academic advisor for undergraduate students at Johns Hopkins University. She specializes in supporting pre-med students—over 70% of her advisees pursue pre-health tracks—but also works closely with students across a wide range of majors, including economics, psychology, environmental science, political science, sociology, business, pre-law, computer science, engineering, data science, education, neuroscience, cognitive science, and criminology.

In addition to her advising work, Aimee is pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on college admissions counseling, academic advising, and college access policy.

Aimee is trilingual and is happy to consult with students and families in English, Korean, or Mandarin Chinese.
