Founder & CEO
College Counselor & SAT Instructor
Aimee brings over 15 years of experience in teaching and advising students from middle school to beyond college level. Aimee is a passionate advocate for access to college education for all students.
Prior to starting Kai Prep, Aimee worked as a middle and high school math teacher in Baltimore. Aimee was a lead teacher for the college-going initiative at her school, serving as a college advisor. Aimee also has extensive English teaching experience, ranging from the SAT, TOEFL, college and high school level reading and writing, as well as business English for adults.
Aimee currently works as an academic advisor for undergraduate students at Johns Hopkins University. Aimee has expertise in guiding students with pre-med goals, given that 70% of her students at Hopkins are pre-med. However, Aimee also has extensive experience in guiding students interested in a wide range of majors, such as economics, psychology, environmental science, political science, sociology, business, pre-law, computer science, engineering, data science, education, neuroscience, cognitive science, criminology, and more.
She is also working on her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include college admissions counseling, college advising, and college access policy.
Aimee is trilingual and can speak in English, Korean, or Chinese (Mandarin) to consult with students and families.

Assistant Director
SAT, AP Instructor
Johnny is the assistant director and instructor at Kai Prep. He has more than 8 years of experience in teaching various subjects, ranging from the SAT English and math, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and essay writing. Having been through the college admission process in both the US and South Korea, Johnny helps students navigate not only through the SAT and AP exams, but also the everyday struggles of high school life. Johnny also has extensive research experiences in science labs with primary interests in gene editing and stem cell research.
Johnny graduated from Yonsei University with a major in bioengineering and is currently attending medical school in South Korea.
At Kai Prep, Johnny teaches AP Biology, AP Chemistry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus.
